MADRID -- Spain's Mediaproduccion, the information subsid of Mediapro, producer of Woodsy Allen's "Evening amount of time in Paris" and Roman Polanski's "Carnage," has emerged from voluntary personal personal bankruptcy protection. A Barcelona court has approved a deal between Mediapro and several creditors, largely banks. Mediapro will settle all liabilities within 35 several days, it mentioned. Mediaproduccion's emergence from protection might have effects for individuals regions of Mediapro. Making obvious its financial status, it facilitates Mediapro's ongoing co-output of A-list auteurs. Grossing $56.2 million Stateside, Allen's finest-ever U.S. trawl, "Evening time" might be the 2nd from the three-pic co-production deal between Mediapro and Gravier, possessed by Allen's sister, Letty Aronson. Mediapro also backed Spain's Versatil, a co-producer on "Carnage," which made $3.4 million in the united states through 12 ,. 19. Mediapro's soccer biz ambitions are less apparent. Its flagship pay DTT funnel, Gol TV, saw 1.7 million site site visitors in November, nearly two occasions people for soccer service Canal Plus Liga, moved by Prisa satcaster Digital Plus. But giant telco Telefonica "practically subsidizes" Gol TV, moving it in to a multi-funnel offer on Telefonica IPTV Imagenio, one analyst mentioned. After Telefonica bought 20% in Digital Plus late 2009, the key factor questions, he added, are whether Telefonica now supports Gol TV or Prisa's soccer biz, so when Mediapro gets the financial capacity or creditors' approval to bid for soccer rights afterwards. 'Mission: Impossible' tops Friday B.O.
'Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol'Paramount's "Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol" conquered a crowded Friday Stateside against three major openers with more to come this holiday weekend. Actioner grossed $9.7 million yesterday."Ghost Protocol" expanded Wednesday after a weekend of exclusively large-format playdates. Pic has earned $25.1 million since Wednesday, and $42.2 million domestically to date. Its six-day Wednesday-to-Monday haul will likely land just north of $50 million, putting it on top for the long frame.Par's pic is followed by a pair of holdover sequels. Warner Bros.' "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" grossed $6.4 million yesterday, while Fox's "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" earned another $5.4 million. Both in their second frame, they've cumed $65.5 million and $42.3 million, respectively.Sony's gritty "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" adaptation grossed $4.6 million yesterday. Earlier this week, B.O. experts predicted a tighter race between "Dragon Tattoo" and "Ghost Protocol," but the former's R rating is holding it back during the family holiday. Still, with high interest among adults, it has the most to gain from soft Christmas Eve business today. In fifth, "The Adventures of Tintin" (distribbed domestically by Par) earned $3.5 million yesterday. Pic opened internationally eight weeks ago and has cumed more than $237 million overseas, so its more modest domestic bow -- pundits are putting its six-day total close to $20 million -- shouldn't trouble worldwide distributors Par and Sony too much.Cameron Crowe's "We Bought a Zoo" opened yesterday, earning just $3 million for Fox. Its four-day haul should fall in the low teens through Monday.Still to come, Disney's "War Horse," Summit's "The Darkest Hour" and Par's "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" all bow Christmas Day, looking to benefit from increased moviegoing traffic in the week following the holiday. Matt Damon Still Bourne - Or Really wants to Be, Anyway
Despite the frustration and angst venting through the franchise’s erstwhile star, Matt Damon hasn’t quit hope of reprising his role as super-spy Jason Bourne: “I think if [Bourne Legacy] doesn’t work, we are able to just neglected and pretend it didn’t happen, which’d be fine. However I expect that it'll work and just allow us to as we did a different one, that we’d like to do.” With Paul Greengrass rather than Tony Gilroy, obviously, but anyway. Hang your hopes accordingly. [THR]

Critic's Guide to Wednesday TV: Nearing the End of Survivor and X Factor
Ozzy Lusth, Edna Ma Some thoughts about what's on tonight, starting with the reality contests. Was CBS' Survivor just teasing us with that trailer that showed Edna the Meek possibly upsetting Ozzy the Cocky in the next Redemption Island challenge? We'll believe it when we see it, but it would be nice for something unexpected to happen. The final Upolu 5 have stayed boringly, rigidly loyal to their game plan the last few weeks, but now that it's down to the next-to-last episode (8/7c) - the finale airs as the usual multi-hour extravaganza on Sunday - all bets presumably are off. Could anything keep Coach from making the finals? And if Ozzy somehow is bounced as well, that would make the climactic tribal council more interesting - which isn't the same as memorable. As Fox's The X Factor (8/7c) tries to recover from last week's debacle, the final 4 - improbably still including Marcus Canty - will sing songs chosen by fans. If viewers really had the power, don't you think they'd rather vote for a chance to kick the useless Nicole Scherzinger off that judging panel? Too spineless to concede that little Rachel Crow blew Marcus away in last week's sing-off, or maybe too unwilling to throw a vote Simon Cowell's way, she's responsible for last week's train-wreck meltdown, as usual poorly stage-managed by the hapless Steve Jones. Can they all top themselves this week? Want more TV news? Subscribe to TV Guide Magazine now! If you ask me, I'd rather watch what's happening on Bravo. On the addictive Work of Art: The Next Great Artist (9/8c), the contestants get out of the city, heading to a small burg in the Hudson Valley for inspiration from the locals. ... And there's a double elimination on Top Chef: Texas (10/9c), as the chef-testants pair up to cook wild game for a group of famous chefs. This season is turning out to be a nightmare for any vegans in the home audience. Barbara Walters says she's taken some flack for including the Kardashians among her 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011 (ABC, 9:31/8:31c) in this year's special that throws yet another spotlight on the famous and, in this case, infamous. Also on her list: Simon Cowell, Modern Family "couple" Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, Derek Jeter, Katy Perry, Pippa Middleton and (my deal-breaker) Donald Trump. Who's No. 1? I'll probably find out on Twitter. Earlier in the night, ABC repeats one of the funniest episodes all season of the underappreciated The Middle (8/7c), in which Frankie (award-worthy Patricia Heaton) has a complete - and understandable - meltdown after being put in one of the most disgustingly humiliating domestic situations you can imagine, and which would keep anyone in their right mind from ever blindly finishing off a bag of chips again. Mama's so traumatized she runs back to her own mom (Marsha Mason), but eventually, family will win out. What choice does she have? In CBS crime land, Criminal Minds (9/8c) takes a potentially romantic turn when Hotch runs into a fetching art curator (Bellamy Young of Dirty Sexy Money) while training for a triathlon. Guest stars in the murder-of-the-week storyline, set against Philly's boxing scene, include Charles S. Dutton and Southland's Shawn Hatosy. ... And here's a question I never expected to be asking regarding CSI (10/9c): Who's that naked dead guy in crusty old Dr. Robbins' bed? The coroner (Robert David Hall) takes a rare turn at center stage when his wife finds a naked man in their master bedroom. But who'll do the icky autopsy? So what else is on? ... Vivien (poor, poor Connie Britton) gives birth on FX's execrable American Horror Story (10/9c), while Tate and Violet try to rid the Murder House of some of its laughable overabundance of ghosts. ... Jason Priestley and Jennifer Finnigan play grifters, and Arrested Development's Tony Hale is among their victims, on the winter finale of USA Network's Psych (10/9c). The episode is titled "Neil Simon's Lover's Retreat," which indicates that Shawn and Juliet's romantic getaway to a posh resort will be played for laughs - until they're robbed and a dead body is found at a nearby winery. ... If you're the sort who fast-forwards through shows to get to the ads, then treat yourself to TBS' annual Funniest Commercials of the Year special (10/9c), hosted by Old Spice front-stud Isaiah Mustafa. One of 10 finalists in an online contest, including Volkswagen's memorable "The Force," will be named the winner. ... Chelsea Clinton's media blitz continues this week, as she hosts George Balanchine's production of The Nutcracker in a PBS Live From Lincoln Center special (check local listings). It competes with yet another entry in Ovation's weeklong Battle of the Nutcrackers (8/7c), this one from the Berlin State Opera Ballet. Subscribe to TV Guide Magazine now!

'New Year's Eve' 'Saturday Evening Live' Sketch Sets All-Star Love Story Against Apocalypse (VIDEO)
.publish-content img Because it works out, possibly there have been a lot of stars in 'New Year's Eve' to interact audiences. The Garry Marshall-directed film gained just $13.7 million over the past weekend, under the outlet day grosses of 'Valentine's Day.' If perhaps 'New Year's Eve' featured Came Barrymore, Alan Alda, Cuba Gooding Junior., Al Roker, Christina Aguilera, Paulie Walnuts, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and also the finish of humanity! A minimum of that is what the great folks at 'Saturday Evening Live' presented throughout the Katy Perry-located edition, which mocked 'New Year's Eve' -- despite, or possibly because, mind author Seth Meyers really seems within the underwhelming romcom. RATINGS RAT RACE: Frosty Tops, Chuck Rises, Grimm Steady
Frosty was the (snow) man last night. Forty two-year-old cartoon Frosty The Snowman (1.9/7 in adults 18-49, 7.3 million viewers) steamrolled the competition to rank as the top program of the night in both 18-49 and total viewers. It was one of four holiday specials CBS aired last night, followed by a Blue Bloods rerun. NBC and ABC were the only networks to air their regular Friday lineups in originals. NBC’s Chuck (1.0/3) inched up a tenth from the series low it hit in its most recent outing 3 weeks ago. Grimm (1.6/5) held steady, even with its last Friday telecast 3 weeks ago and the special Thursday 10 PM airing this week. Dateline (1.6/5) closed out the night for NBC at 10 PM. NBC (1.4/4, 4.9 million) pulled off a rare No.1 finish, tied with CBS (1.4/4, 6.4 million) in adults 18-49. ABC ran back-to-back episodes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (1.1/4, 1.5/4, on par with last week), followed by 20/20 (1.3/4). Fox and the CW ran repeats.

REVIEW: Jonah Hill, The Sitter Offer (Mostly) Inoffensive, Forgettable Fun
Having begun his career as American independent film’s great hope with delicate, languid features like George Washington and All the Real Girls, David Gordon Green has devoted the last few years to turning out goofball stoner comedies that, aside from their hip and very current casts, could seem like forgotten oddball ’80s artifacts discovered in a box of dusty VHS tapes at a garage sale. While it’s not a career trajectory anyone who went googly-eyed over his early output would have guessed for him, there’s an unmistakable undercurrent of glee to these recent films that suggests Green — who still works with many of the crew members with which he started, including composer David Wingo and DP Tim Orr — is having a great time making exactly the type of movies he wants to. How fun they are to actually watch is a knottier question. Pineapple Express was hazy, sloppy fun, but Your Highness felt like one long inside joke no one deigned to explain. The Sitter pulls back from the latter’s sometimes jarring abrasiveness and aims to sprinkle sweetness and reconciliation between the laughs — without, this time, putting them in air quotes. It succeeds at tickling the funny bone and warming the heart, though it’s not terribly good at either — The Sitter’s a lazy ramble of a movie that’s amusing enough to hold your gaze for 81 minutes while leaving you feeling a little cheated when it’s over. Jonah Hill’s slimmed down considerably in the months since shooting this movie, but as genial waster Noah Griffith he still looks like a child’s drawing of a person — a small circle on top of a large circle from which legs and arms directly extend. Noah’s living at home in the suburbs of NY with his single mom (Jessica Hecht), having been kicked out of college for reasons left fuzzy. Whatever his misbehaviors, there’s never a doubt that he’s a fundamentally good kid who’s run temporarily aground, and that sense of underlying softness dulls the edge of The Sitter’s attempt comedy. Noah may not be the greatest choice to take care of children and may make some seriously dumb decisions, but he’s of course going to fix his own mess, even when that own mess involves an angry but hug-happy drug dealer named Karl (Sam Rockwell) and $10,000 in cocaine. Noah’s pursuing a doomed entanglement with neighborhood girl Marisa (Ari Graynor), who keeps him around for physical favors (which she refuses to return) while still being fixated on her ex-boyfriend. It’s her suggestion he pick up some drugs and join her at a party in Brooklyn that starts the night on its course toward disaster, since Noah’s already been roped into babysitting the three children of family friends so that his mom can accompany the parents to a swank party where’s she going to be introduced to a romantic prospect. he kids are cartoons, but amusingly contemporary ones: Little Blithe (Landry Bender) lacquers herself with makeup and talks like a pre-pubescent Paris Hilton nightmare. Explosives-happy adopted Hispanic sibling Rodrigo (Kevin Hernandez) acts like he’s a refugee from a drug cartel, though his inexplicable costume of choice involves yellow pajamas and cowboy boots. And 13-year-old Slater is a jumble of anxiety and angst, carrying his meds around in a fanny pack. Played by Where the Wild Things Are’s Max Records, Slater’s not at all funny, but does provide some heartfelt emotional distress that’s poignant and probably better suited to some other movie. So The Sitter’s nightlong obstacle course is set — wrangle children, buy coke, get money together to placate the dealer when things go wrong, and finish in time to join Marisa at a party and finally consummate that pseudo-relationship. These goals take the four on a journey through lower Manhattan and actual Brooklyn neighborhoods, including South Slope, Greenpoint and Bushwick — the film’s sense of NY, and of being a suburban kid who may head there to play but has to eventually leave and head home at the end of the night, is one of its best qualities. Its worst is its weird treatment of race, which beyond Rodrigo’s ridiculousness includes Noah’s triumphant winning over of a group of black friends by letting himself get punched in the face — “I feel so cool right now,” he declares. Perhaps attesting to that white-kid inferiority complex is the soundtrack — Noah Griffith’s infinite playlist involves songs by 2 Live Crew, Slick Rick, The Sugarhill Gang and Biz Markie, perfect for a Long Island kid who prefers his hip hop comfortably old-school. Childhood resentments are aired, revelations are had, and age is come of by the end of The Sitter, with an oddly anticlimactic conclusion that never ties into the geomagnetic storm set to happen that night that the characters have spent a fair amount of time talking about. All the ends are easily tied away, and seemingly major disruptions are forgotten as soon as it’s time for bed — which is about as quickly, one guesses, as this movie will fade from mind. 'Bachelor' Producers Sue Spoiler Website for Soliciting Info Leaks from Contestants (Exclusive)
Ray Mickshaw/FOX A former Universal Network Television employee might soon get to bring to a jury claims that behind the scenes of TV show House there's "hard-drinking, over-sexed, cussing, gun-toting males" who made life difficult for her.our editor recommends'House' Star Hugh Laurie Says He'll Retire From TV Acting Once Show EndsOlivia Wilde Makes Final 'House' Appearance Monday: 'I See It as a Really Important Chapter in My Life' (Video) In July 2010,Carl Jones, who spent four years working as an assistant property master on the Fox medical mystery show, suedHouseproducer Universal and two of its staffers, claiming that he was victim to sexual harassment and was fired when he spoke up about allegedly obnoxious behavior on the part of his supervisors. After nearly a year and a half of extensive discovery and pre-trial motions, Los Angeles Superior Court JudgeRichard Fruinindicated last week his willingness to have a jury decide whether Jones was retaliated against for objecting to a hostile workplace. Jones makes some wild allegations in his lawsuit about back-stage behavior on the show. He targets his supervisorsTyler PattonandMike Caseyfor repeated bad acts and says his genitals were groped and that he was called a "bitch," "faggot," "slave," and "pussy." In the prop trailer where Jones worked, the plaintiff alleges that adult magazines and adult movies were around and that his supervisors were hard drinkers who would invite females from the wardrobe and other production departments there to engage in sexual activity. Jones allegeshe was forced to clean up semen and condom wrappers and was ridiculed when he declined to go out to a nearby off-set strip club. The set ofHouseis also described as a dangerous place to work. Against Universal's policies, Patton allegedly brought a real gun there and would throw knifes in between bouts of tequila drinking. Jones says he was fired in March 2010, by an extremely drunk Patton, after which he complained to Garret van der Meer, the show's co-executive producer/unit production manager. Jones says his complaints were ignored, and the former staffer believes that speaking up about what was going on, including contacting his union, led to retaliation, included being "blackballed from all Universal Productions." Jones says he scored another job after his dismissal, but as a result of being placed on a blacklist, he wasn't able to get access to the Fox lot, so he then lost that second job. Universal wanted a summary judgment dismissal of this lawsuit, saying that Jones had failed to exhaust his administrative remedies, that his claims were time-barred, and that the plaintiff couldn't show "discriminatory motive based on his gender or perceived sexual orientation." The studio said that each season was an independent one in terms of employment and that the decision to not rehire Jones for Season 7 of House couldn't be tied to Jones' allegations of sexual innuendo on the set. The defendant believes that Jones' theories about why he was dismissed are merely speculative. For their part,Patton and Casey vigorously denied they engaged in the above-described offensive conduct. At a hearing last week, Judge Fruin considered some of the evidence submitted in depositions so far and tentatively decided there are enough triable issues to reject Universal's motions to dismiss discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims. He threw out claims based on the Unruh Civil Rights Act, and asked for additional briefings for a hearing scheduled for December 16. If the judge sticks to his tentative ruling, the case could be on track to be heard by a jury next year. Patty Jenkins Off Thor 2
Norse god hero seeks new directorAnd that's strike two for the Norse warrior god! Yep, just when it looked like Marvel might have found someone to wrangle Thor, his feuding family and Natalie Portman's Jane back on the screen, Patty Jenkins has decided to leave the job of directing Thor 2.Word of Jenkins kicking off talks to take the job surfaced in September, with the surprise news that the director of Monster really was itching to tackle the superhero sequel. Hers was the first confirmed name after rumours circulated that Game Of Thrones veteran Brian Kirk might be the man for the gig. Now, though, thanks to those pesky creative differences, Jenkins is bidding adieu to Asgard. Deadline reports that she may well show up calling the shots for another Marvel superhero project, but not a sequel.Cue a mad scramble and Marvel's executives hitting the contacts book as the studio (and distribution partners Disney) have a locked in November 2013 release date to meet and no one at the helm. When Jenkins' name first surfaced, it emerged that she'd beaten out the likes if Drew Goddard, James McTeigue and Breck Eisner for the position, so perhaps we'll see one of them announced next.Chris Hemsworth is set to return as the titular hero, and we'd expect to see Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and, depending on what happens with Loki in The Avengers, possibly Tom Hiddleston back in some capacity.
Universal Potter plan draws toasts
Raising mugs of butterbeer Tuesday morning, studio chiefs from Warner Bros. and Universal, in addition to California Gov. Jerry Brown, toasted intends to develop a Wizarding Realm of Harry Potter park at Universal Galleries Hollywood. "Hogwarts is visiting Hollywood," browse the marquee in the Globe Theater throughout the presentation. The designed Potter park in Orlando, Fla., which instantly grew to become a high draw at Universal's Islands of chance, if this opened up in June 2010, may also be "greatly broadened," based on Universal Parks and Resorts chairman-Boss Tom Williams, and "build upon the great experience that already is available" there. Warner Bros. chairman-Boss Craig Meyer stated, "The way forward for Harry Potter is searching better today than ever beforeInch which, using the new park plans, the franchise is "entering the next thing of the items Harry Potter way to its loyal audience." No date has yet been set on once the L.A. project or Orlando expansion will get started. First park was introduced in 2007 and opened up this year. Executives at both galleries were keeping a good lid on specifics, saying many particulars remained as being completed and plans could be introduced sometime the coming year. Universal continues to be wrestling with lengthy-term expansion plans for a long time, working carefully using the city and communities to appease fears of traffic congestion. The designed area in Hollywood, that will replicate Hogwarts castle, Hogsmeade village as well as other shops from J.K. Rowling's books and WB's movies and will be offering rides, will probably replace existing regions of the present park. Universal's Hollywood amusement park is much more limited in space than U's two Florida parks for big-scale points of interest such as the Wizarding Realm of Harry Potter. But U is wanting to make room for that designed area because the Orlando version has consistently damaged attendance and purchasers records since opening. Additional versions are now being considered for U's overseas parks. Universal is presently creating a three dimensional ride according to Paramount's "Transformers" franchise that opens early in the year, changing the previous home of "Backdraft" along with other points of interest. The Potter park can give U another attraction to contend with Disneyland's massive Cars Land, which opens next summer time in Anaheim. New addition is anticipated to cost "hundreds of million dollars," using the first park's cost, and generate a lot more than 1,000 jobs, stated Universal Galleries prexy-chief operating officer Ron Meyer. Meyer added the Potter park "as set a brand new standard in designed entertainment and can alter the face of tourism in Los Angeles.Inch Universal Galleries Hollywood already creates $4.4 billion for that La economy every year, stated L.A. County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky in the event. "As leaders in municipality, you should be protective from the movie industry," he added, "and double lower on L.A.'s way forward for cultural tourism." Brown recognized the plans, saying, "It is a great day whenever we see purchase of California among all of the negative people out there. California is really a mythic place. Its very title comes with an aura that pulls people here. The film industry keeps hope alive and us taking into consideration the unpredicted. We are a classic condition of imagination, which Harry Potter park pushes us in the future." La Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who spoke throughout a pre-recorded segment while marketing tourism to L.A. in Beijing, also famous the plans. "Without doubt that La and Gryffindor are among the same," he stated. Also inside a recorded segment, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer excited from the park's expansion plans there, saying, "We have already seen the energy of the brand." Also available in the event were WB's Shaun Robinov, Diane Nelson, Kevin Tsujihara and Kaira Globe. Contact Marc Graser at marc.graser@variety.com

Check out the rest of today's casting news after the jump! Actresses Vie For "Les Miserables" Role What do Scarlett Johansson, Taylor Swift, Evan Rachel Wood and Lea Michele all have in common? They're all fighting for the role of Eponine in Tom Hooper's upcoming musical adaptation of "Les Miserables." The NY Post reports that all four actresses have already auditioned for the part, and they're just waiting for Hooper's decision. The actress who gets chosen will join Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne in the previously announced cast. "Ender's Game" Makes More Casting Decisions Unsurprisingly, Deadline is reporting that "Hugo" star Asa Butterfield has been confirmed for the title role in "Ender's Game." What is a bit more unexpected and exciting, though, is the news from Variety that Harrison Ford is director Gavin Hood's top choice to play Colonel Hyrum Graff. While Hood is also looking at other actors as back-ups, it would be pretty freaking exciting to have Ford join this project. "Bridget Jones' Baby" Gets A Director With the recent announcement from Deadline that Paul Cattaneo will helm the third installment in the "Bridget Jones' Diary" series, called "Bridget Jones' Baby," Colin Firth has now boxed himself in to star in the film. Presumably all the main cast -- Firth, Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant -- will be back for the romcom, but in a recent interview with MTV News, Firth admitted that he's "reconciled to the inevitability" that he'll return to form as Mr. Darcy. Honestly, we couldnt picture it any other way. Julia Roberts Gets Her "Second Act" The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Julia Roberts will both produce and star in New Regency's upcoming workplace comedy "Second Act." The film apparently "centers on a woman who has never worked and is forced to take a job." Roberts will produce with her Red Om Films label. Tell us your thoughts on today's Casting Call in the comments section below or on Twitter!

Live in Los Angeles on November 14, 2011All eyes were on Kristen Stewart on Monday night at the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, when the actress stepped out in a dress that showed off some serious leg! The 21-year-old star donned a blue sequined J. Mendel gown and Jimmy Choo heels, which Access Hollywoods Shaun Robinson found out were taking their toll on the actress. [My feet] hurt so bad, Kristen told Shaun. Usually they hurt. I just hurt my foot on Snow White of course, because I do that to myself all the time. So, I think this is the last interview Im going to stay in these heels. Thats when Shaun had an idea that Kristen was game for! Lets both kick off our shoes right now! Shaun told the star. (Check out Shaun and Kristen enjoying a red carpet moment of relaxation, HERE!) I hurt my foot genuinely, the actress continued, referring to her work on the upcoming Snow White and The Huntsman, which she has been filming overseas. I was running around on Snow White and I tend to hurt myself when I get really into stuff, and I did it again, she explained. Its not that bad, its just these are crazy killer heels. Kristens feet arent her first Snow White injury that shes revealed to Shaun. Earlier this month at the Breaking Dawn junket, she showed up with her hand in a brace. I got in a fight with a dwarf, She joked at the time. To be honest, I actually punched myself in the knee. Im such a klutz as soon as they say, action, it doesnt matter what you say to me, I hurt myself I love stunts. As for the crazy pandemonium in downtown Los Angeles for the premiere of Breaking Dawn, Kristen loved it. I love those guys, she said of the fans that had camped out for days to catch a glimpse of her and co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Its all good. Theyre a little kooky, but its all right. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 hits theaters on November 18. Copyright 2011 by NBC Universal, Inc. All rights reserved. Dwts Episode Recap: Tuesday, November. 8, 2011
Dwts names its semifinalists as you more couple hits the street. Who made the ultimate four? Discover below. Plus: DanceCenter returns! So Nancy needs to leave, right? The idol judges managed to get obvious these were over her last evening making sure to not pad her scores. However, if Nancy leaves, which means Tristan leave too. And I am unsure I'm able to lose Coco and Tristan consecutive.Following another USC shout-from Take advantage of last evening along with a demonstrate that Len desired to hug (!) Maks, the very first three couples hit happens.Very first safe couples:J.R. and KarinaHope and MaksRob and Cheryl have been in risk. How totally unconvincing did Hope and Maks look using their "excitement"? Despite their "breakthrough," off and on the ground, they are not adequate enough stars to feign even temporary pleasure.DanceCenterLen, Jerry Grain and Kenny Mayne have returned!Ricki: Her bio deets: "of sufficient age to become Derek's mother" and "gives birth in bath tubs." Kenny highlights that Derek is much like his Best friend Mark, except "not as creepy." Correct that. And that he does not possess a fondness for spats either. However the most revealing thing about this? Ricki really wants to go all Mrs. Robinson on Derek. Not receiving enough in your own home, huh?J.R.: His height, weight, shoe size? Hero. "And he's a genuine hero, nothing like an excellent Bowl champion," Kenny quips. Burn! He observes that J.R. sure does love musical theater for any serviceman. "Don't request," Jerry states.Take advantage of: His weakness: Has got the Kardashian ass. But who cares when he's a university graduate? Signal an excellent-cut famous Rob's USC mentions (sans the main one from 5 minutes ago). Seriously, dude, what exactly are you overcompensating for? Really, don't answer that.Nancy: Talents: her twins and her relationship with Tristan also known as "Lucky Charm." Kenny reminds us that Nancy would be a cheerleader in older days and that we are treated to, like, the alternative of Take It On masterdom from her. "Can you have won three Super Bowls with Nancy around the sideline?" he asks Jerry. "No," he states. Ouch."Han" Solo: Notes: She's a component-time nudist and it has better abs than Maks. Can't argue with this. Ever the household show, they roll footage of Hope's nude ESPN playboy shoot, which naturally is then Len's own nekkid shoot. "This is the third time I have seen you naked," Kenny states. TMI. As my pal Phoebe Buffay would say, "My eyes! My eyes!" Inside a situation of inspired booking, we obtain performances in the Cirque du Soleil, the Michael Jackson tour ballroom dancers (nice timing, right?), Andrea Bocelli and Flo Rida. Regrettably, Andrea and Flo don't duet, which is simply a skipped chance should you request me. I'd pay to determine that. The next time, men? Thanks.Next safe couple:Ricki and DerekThat means Nancy and Tristan join Take advantage of and Cheryl in risk, but they're not always the underside two.And also the couple going house is... Nancy and Tristan."I'm so proud, however i really cannot take all of the credit," she states. Uh, nobody was passing on for you. "It has been Tristan in the get-go.""Thank you for being very welcoming in my experience,Inch Tristan states. Perform the right factor and produce him back next season, show! After last week's blunder, you've made the best call, America. Nancy's just from her league at this time (though Hope isn't that far behind) also it was just dependent on time until her time went out. But seriously, Tristan had better be back next season. And each one next. What have you think? Did the best couple go back home? DoesDancing have to sign Tristan to some long term contract? Have you like DanceCenter? Will Take advantage of ever stop mentioning USC? When were the in other cases Kenny saw Len naked? Is the shoe size "hero"? How can we get this to Andrea Bocelli-Flo Rida duet happen? Who's your present pick to win? show less

'Rum Diary' Star Aaron Eckhart on Booze, Cigars and Johnny Depp's Entourage
Director Bruce Robinson said that if Aaron Eckhart hadn't agreed to play ambitious real-estate developer Sanderson in 'The Rum Diary,' "we'd still be casting." In the movie, lots of rum is swilled and cigars are smoked. Turns out Eckhart only indulges in one of those vices in real life: "I got addicted to cigars while making this movie," he admitted to Moviefone. Interestingly, he was one of the few who wasn't lighting up at the movie's press conference, where Johnny Depp smoked five hand-rolled cigarettes in quick succession, moderator Elvis Mitchell sucked on a huge stogie and Robinson smoked and drank a beer. By comparison, Eckhart says things were pretty tame on the Puerto Rican set. Your character has a very nice spread on the beach in this movie. We filmed it in the beach in Puerto Rico, which is great because that's where it actually takes place. Often these days, you go somewhere like Eastern Europe and that'll double for NY or Los Angeles or whatever. It's nice to go to a place because the story takes place there. Did it seem like a lot of Puerto Rico is unchanged since Hunter S. Thompson was there? You could go both ways. When you go inland, you can certainly say that. We were in San Juan. On my days off, I would drive my car and go surfing and just randomly go through towns. You wouldn't know that those places had been inhabited. On the other hand, you'd be driving along and you'd see this huge corporation and you'd be like, "What is that?" Out in the middle of nowhere, IBM has set up this huge place and it has its own runway and all the locals work at IBM. It's sort of a surprising little island because it has the American influence and it has the indigenous and they have a little war going on there between the two. And in this you play an evil developer. Yes, I'm an evil developer. [Laughs] And they're getting their own way. I think Puerto Rico's being... of course I don't know what it was like before, but you see sand and water and blue sky and they're trying to get some tourists over there. It's sort of the polar opposite of what Johnny's doing. It's like oil and water. I find it interesting that he has a problem with my corruptedness and my coercion, but he has no problem stealing my woman. [Bursts out laughing] So who's less principled? Right, it's like, 'So much for your morality!' There's a little hypocrisy there. What's it like making a movie with Johnny? I didn't know him before this. I got a call and went and met Bruce and I think that they had seen some of Sanderson in some of my other movies. So I was happy to go along and work with them. Did the set ever get as crazy as anything in the movie? No, Johnny and Bruce kept a really cool, even set. But everyone had worked for Johnny for like 10 years. He brings the same guys on, makeup, crew. Everybody was totally indebted to Johnny. They're saying things like, 'Johnny put my kids through school,' serious stuff. The first day we came on, Johnny was like, ' Hey John, how's Betty? How's the kid?' I started feeling bad about myself that I didn't know who everyone was, but then I realized that they've all done six movies or so with Johnny. Is this a goal of yours, to have your own crew now? God, I'd love to, because you have to go to sets sometimes that are in these desolate places. It would be so nice to make movies with people you know. Clint Eastwood does it, Johnny does it. It's just not feasible in this day and age unless you're number one. Did you hang out much with him? We hung out during filming. We had a lot of good laughs. I enjoy Johnny's company. No, I don't hang out too much afterward and I get the feeling that he doesn't either. It's sort of awkward when that happens. For me, I'd rather just go home and lead a normal life, because the expectations are that you're all there just for work. But I've always been a solitary kind of dude. So do you have a favorite rum drink? Well, when I drank, I would drink rum and anything you wanted to pour. I always liked ... before I said Piña Colada, but I got in trouble for that. They thought it was too fruity. They wanted me to say Cuba Libre. What's the drink with the mint? Mojito. Yeah, I've had one of those before. Those are good. You don't drink anymore? No, it's been eight or nine years. Good for you, that's great. But I did start smoking cigars during this movie. I started smoking them for this movie and I haven't stopped. I've been smoking cigars every day. Do you plan to quit? Or does it fit it any of your upcoming roles? I play Frankenstein next, so maybe Frankenstein will have a cigar through his throat [like the classic neck bolt that Karloff had], and I won't even have to inhale. That'll be hot. [Laughs.] Read our exclusive interview with Eckhart about his role in 'I, Frankenstein.' [Photo: Film District] Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook RELATED

Do Gotham Honours Nominations Really Impact Oscar Race? (Analysis)
"Night time in Paris" Today, the IFP introduced the nominees for that 21st annual Gotham Independent Film Honours. It might be nice basically could let you know to see into the truth that:our editor recommendsGotham Award Noms Visit 'The Descendants' and 'Martha Marcy May Marlene' The Descendants and Martha Marcy May Marlene, two Fox Searchlight films, brought the area with three nominations each Beginners, The Descendants, Meek's Cutoff, Take Shelter, and also the Tree of Existence were nominated for top feature Gotham, but 50/50, Drive, Jane Eyre, Constantly, Martha Marcy May Marlene, Night time in Paris, Pariah, Rampart, and We have to Discuss Kevin weren't The Descendants has adopted within the actions from the Hurt Locker (2008) and Winter's Bone (2009) -- two films that continued gain best picture, best director, best lead performance, and finest script Oscar nods -- by nabbing Gotham nods for the best feature, best ensemble, and finest breakthrough actor (Locker and Bone won the very first two) and Felicity Johnson (Constantly), Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene), or Shailene Woodley (The Descendants), the greatest-profile nominees for the best breakthrough actor, will likely win that category and go onto recieve an Oscar jerk, in line with the proven fact that five its last seven those who win accomplished it: Catalina Sandino Moreno for Maria Filled with Sophistication (2004), Can Be for Junebug (2005), Rinko Kikuchi for Babel (2006), Ellen Page for Juno (2007), and Melissa Leo for Frozen River (2008) STORY: Gotham Award Noms Visit 'The Descendants' and 'Martha Marcy May Marlene' But the truth is which i cannot, because: Gotham nominations and wins are actually an expression of simply the tastes from the five-person "committees" which are "composed of film experts, festival developers yet others in a roundabout way involved in the development and distribution of films" who're randomly selected and designated towards the various groups through the IFP The nomination criteria for the best feature, which is designed to celebrate indie films, is really vague -- to become qualified a movie should be American, possess a distributor, and also have occurred "by having an economy of means" -- that nominees have incorporated from Ballast (2008), a micro-budget film having a no-title distributor, to In to the Wild (2007), a $15 million Vital film, towards the Departed, a $90 million Warner Siblings film. The nomination criteria for the best breakthrough actor is every bit suspect. For instance, in 2008, The Customer and also the Wrestler were nominated for the best feature, and Melissa Leo was nominated for the best breakthrough actor, but Richard Jenkins (The Customer) and Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler) -- two veterans who, like Leo, experienced career discoveries that year -- weren't also listed one of the breakthrough actor nominees. (Area of the problem is the fact that there's no cohesion between your choices in groups, since differing people pick the nominees and those who win for all of them.) The those who win of best breakthrough actor have sometimes been place-on, when it comes to predicting discoveries... but within the last 2 yrs continues to be not that, in line with the choice of Catalina Saavedra for that Maid over Jeremy Renner for that Hurt Locker (last year) and Ronald Bronstein for Dad Longlegs over Jennifer Lawrence for Winter's Bone (this year). Saavedra and Bronstein might have given worthy performances, however their "discoveries" weren't then but still are not apparent to anybody however the committee that chose them. STORY: Gary Oldman, Charlize Theron and David Cronenberg to become Feted in the Gotham Honours When I go over this season's listing of Gotham nominees, it's as hard as always to know the way the best feature category could include films with budgets varying from basically $two million (Meek's Cutoff) completely up to and including not-very-indie $32 million (The Tree of Existence), and perhaps even greater (since nobody at Fox Searchlight will disclose your budget from the Descendants). And, because the Tree of Existence was qualified for the best feature with this $32 million budget, the other are only able to conclude that Night time in Paris -- that is broadly thought to become a more powerful best picture Oscar contender than the films nominated for Gotham Honours this season -- seemed to be qualified using its $$ 30 million budget, which the different nomination committees simply considered it not worthy of recognition in a category. That strikes me as bizarre. Also completely ignore: 50/50, Albert Nobbs, Another Happy Day, Drive, Jane Eyre, Melancholia, My Week with Marilyn, Rampart, The Way In Which, We have to Discuss Kevin, and also the Whistleblower. Still, despite their inexplicable eccentricities, the Gothams can -- and frequently do -- serve an essential purpose by calling focus on some films that may not otherwise receive it -- sometimes within the aforementioned groups, and try to within the category known as "best film not playing in a theater in your area.Inch Of the years nominees, it had been particularly refreshing to best breakthrough director nominations presented upon Vera Farmiga (the Oscar-nominated actress who made her directorial debut this season using the effective drama Greater Ground) and Dee Rees (who switched Pariah, a semi-autobiographical drama that they authored while interning on movie sets, right into a hit Sundance short after which right into a hit Sundance feature). 'Beyond Thrilled': My Week With Marilyn Director Simon Curtis On His Auspicious NYFF Debut
The world premiere of your first feature film — in the hypercritical climes of the NY Film Festival, no less — would be nerve-wracking for any director. But Simon Curtis isn’t any director. He’s a BAFTA- and Emmy-nominated television and stage veteran who’s worked with a who’s who of British acting royalty, a noteworthy group of whom appear in Curtis’s feature debut My Week With Marilyn. Of course, Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench and Derek Jacobi (along with younger stars Eddie Redmayne and Dominic Cooper) all orbit the staggering lead performance of Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe during the troubled making of The Prince and the Showgirl. Movieline caught up with Curtis today to take the temperature of both his My Week With Marilyn experience and his NYFF afterglow. How are you feeling now having your big, buzzy, NY Film Festival world premiere out of the way? I was beyond thrilled with the response in the room — all three screenings yesterday. We’ll see how we get on. But I’m very proud of the film; it feels like a crowd-pleaser. That’s my dream. It’s full of very complicated, sort of upsetting things, but it’s very, very funny, too. Or I always thought so, and it seems the audience did, too. So I was thrilled to hear that big NY audience — that big cinema — laughing. I was really surprised to hear you say yesterday that this was your first film. I know some of your background — the stage and TV, of course, but I would have sworn you’d made a feature previously. Yeah. But there’s “TV,” and there’s TV, and I’ve been very lucky. Some of those BBC things… I don’t know if you saw Cranford, for example. In terms of the cast, I don’t know where the difference is. Frankly, there’s more TV than good films at the moment. [Laughs] But anyway. Yeah, this is my first film. Why did you want to do this as your big-screen debut? I fell in love with the material. I feel in love with the two diaries. Along the way, as we’ve been developing this, I’ve spoken to people about other movies, and they nearly happened and all that. But I decided to hold on for the film that I truly believed in — the film that I cherished. I’ve only thought about this in recent conversations, but it has so many of the themes in this film that are the themes I live my life by. I’m married to an American actress [Elizabeth McGovern] who’s come to live in England. Americans can be Anglophiles; I don’t know what the word is for an English person who loves America, but I’ve always loved America. The idea of celebrity when it starts to go away, as expressed by Olivier and Vivian [Leigh] in this film. These are the themes I obsess over that happen to be in this film. I didn’t choose it for that reason, but in retrospect, that’s why I was drawn to it, perhaps. And also, as a young man wanting to get into the profession, I identify very much with Colin’s voyage into the film. Considering that there were two books, and considering the richness of the material and the characterizations, did it ever occur to you to maybe adapt this as a miniseries or longer movie for TV? No. I always wanted to make this as a film. One of the things that makes this film work is a bona fide movie star playing Marilyn. Michelle is a genius, I think, but not only is she a genius, she’s at the exact right moment of her life to play Marilyn, age 30, in 1956. It’s what I dreamt of: the right person to do it, you know? Well, yes, and I’d agree that Michelle is something of a genius. But do you really think she’s a “bona fide movie star”? Wouldn’t that work against playing another, actual bona fide movie star? You know more about that than me, but for me, she is. Basically, instead of saying “bona fide movie star,” we can just say she is absolutely the right person to play this character now. She’s the right age; there’s so much excitement and interest in her. Also, she’s a director’s dream. She’s such a hard worker, and she sets such high standards for herself. But she also, fantastically for this very complicated character — let alone the risk of playing someone so famous — she works equally hard on the internal character as she does on the external. And of course part of the film is the culture clash between the external, Olivier style of acting, and the internal, Method style. But Michelle does both. Working her way toward the start of the shoot, she was working equally on the body language. That dance that Marilyn does in The Prince and the Showgirl was a way into learning how Marilyn moved — not just in that dance, but in life as well. But then she’d be working on all the internal stuff. And it’s a very particular moment in Marilyn’s life. We always said it wasn’t a biopic; it was a moment in time. And at this time, when she arrives in England, she is now married to the great intellectual who she thought would rescue her from her life and give her intellectual and artistic credibility. She was coming to work with the great Olivier — who, again, she thought would give her credibility. And also, she was way ahead of her time with Milton Greene in setting up Marilyn Monroe Productions to produce her own movies. When she arrived in England, it was like this phenomenal moment that could all have gone a different way. And in some ways, the story of our film — the making of The Prince and the Showgirl — is how all those dreams collapsed. When you have such concrete primary sources as the diaries and The Prince and the Showgirl — and you clearly want to treat each with a certain verisimilitude — how did you go about making sure that My Week With Marilyn is its own thing? Is it just naturally so? Winding back, I was very keen to recreate The Prince and the Showgirl as accurately as possible. But Michelle and I talked about it a lot — about how there’s The Prince and the Showgirl, and there’s also the press conferences and little snippets of Marilyn, but there’s no footage, obviously, of her in private. So that was a world we could make our own. You know what I mean? The casting in any film makes a difference, but in this in particular, there’s something about Branagh’s Olivier that is unique to our film. Whereas another Olivier would have been a different kettle of fish. Another Colin Clark would have been a different thing. Eddie has a particular flavor, doesn’t he? Several attributes — he the authentic old Etonian playing an old Etonian. It’s that sort of thing. You’re also directing Branagh directing his own character and Marilyn on a film set within your set. How do you keep control as these layers compound? It’s very complicated, some of those scenes. I found it very hard working out where Marilyn would do five or even six takes of a line. But the thing about directing is that it’s this bizarre mixture of control and lack of control, and I’m a great believer in the idea that if you cast the right people, they’ll bring something special. In totally different ways, Michelle and Ken brought so much into the room. They’re both such formidable intellects; they know what they know. I know some directors would be quite challenged by that, but I was just very grateful. To say nothing of the supporting cast — Judi Dench, Derek Jacobi… I’ve always believed in being ambitious with casting, because actors can only say no. Never be afraid of asking. A lot of those parts are actually quite short commitments, so we sort of got lucky in a way. Judi had met Sybil Thorndike, and obviously it intrigued her — the notion of playing Sybil. I’d also worked with Judi in two previous years, so that helped, too. The allure of working with Michelle helped a lot, and liking the script helped. Being in London — local — helped. All these things contribute. Julia Ormond surprised me here, too — just totally heartbreaking. Like a lot of actresses her age, she understands Vivian’s heartbreak about having been the most beautiful woman in the world and now, at only 43, being made to feel like she’s passed it. I think modern actresses completely get that. I was wincing. Yeah! Absolutely. But it was very important to keep that in, because had Marilyn lived, maybe at 43, she’d have felt the same. Even when you’re the most beautiful woman of your generation, it can go. Do you think we can even have mythologies worthy of these kinds of interpretations and dramatizations in the future? I mean, there’s Twitter, Facebook, blogs, the rest of the Internet. Is that, too, a time that’s passed? Well, I do think the film is a love letter to a lost time. And I also think that Marilyn was a sort of prototype celebrity in a way — that frenzy around her, that interest in here. I read a biography written shortly after [The Prince and the Showgirl] — while she was still alive — that there was a sort of People magazine-y type of thing. So obviously that was going on. It just wasn’t in everybody’s face all the time. I love your having invoked Lost in Translation as something of an inspiration for this. What’s behind that influence? It wasn’t an influence, but I was thinking, “Can this story work?” And watching one of my favorite film, Lost in Translation, made me think, “Yes, it can.” They’re these two different people who come into contact with each other randomly for this short, intense time, have this impact on each other, and then go their separate ways. That’s in the structure of this film. What’s next for you? I’m not sure. I’d love to do a contemporary American story — without iconic characters. [Laughs] But I don’t know. I was talking to Sam Shepard last week about his collaborations with European filmmakers, and their historical interest in American mythology, landscape and psyche. Do you relate to that? That’s interesting. Yes, I think I do. I mean, for a Brit, I’m very knowledgeable about America and, again, whatever the equivalent of an American Anglophile is for America. I’m married to an American. I spend a lot of time here; my children are American citizens. It’s very precious to me, my relationship with America. You can think also of Sam Mendes, American Beauty, that sort of thing. But I do recognize that, and it has a great appeal to me.
